HALLOWEEN 2013 - The Year I discovered yard decorating!
If I had to chose a favourite holiday I would have to say halloween usually makes the top of the list. There is something about being able to change your house from the inside into anything you want. The cute little kids in there costumes enjoying it also makes it pretty awesome.
This is the start of my halloween decorating obsession, I am not saying it is anything amazing (especially this first year), but I really enjoy doing it and I will get better. I have tons to learn about lighting and of course money would make most of this easier. I decorate my parents house each year, which only has one outdoor outlet!!! This makes things tricky, but I am learning to work around it, Take pity on my basic haunts and I am always open to tips and suggestions, just send me a message.
YARD & HOUSE DECOR
Some of my awesome dollar store props placed in my house. I swear the dollar store should be everyone's home base for decor. Or maybe I am just crazy.

A bit of the food from mommy dogs and halloween shaped pasta to devilled eyeballs and cobweb cake...

So if we are being completely honest, I had no idea what I was doing this year or what is even involved in trying to decorate a yard. I went simple, tried some DIY which definitely did not turn out how I desired, but you can certainly say I tried.

I didn't take many photos this year, as I was not very confident in my design (especially as I had no lights to make it look awesome at night). Everything you see here was super basic and easy to create, most were made from props bought at Home Depot, Michael's, Spirit Halloween and (my favourite) Dollarama.
The main things that needed to be built here were my cations signs (photoshop and a good printer) and my "mad scientist scene". I am not great at making my own props but if you wanted to know what went into the mad scientist, here is a quick and small list:

• Chicken Wire - (to make body) Home Depot or any home reno store
• Doctor's Uniform - eBay, can also be found at second hand stores
• Mask & Styrofoam head - Value Village aka second hand store
• Gloves - Home Depot or Dollarama
• Tables - folding tables from anywhere, mine were from sears
• Table Cloth & Cheese Cloth - Dollarama or any Halloween store
• Glass Containers/Jars - Dollarama and Second Hand Store

HOUSE PARTY
No yard to decorate!? Perfect, you can throw a party and this was my second attempt at throwing a party with one of my friends.

This was our "Kill Room" it was super fun and easy to do. All we did was buy some clear drop cloth/furniture protector sheets from Home Depot and cover them in red paint. *Important* try and do this BEFORE the day of the party, as the paint takes a while to dry and lets just say we definitely learned from out mistakes. (Sorry terrible lighting)

Here is some of the rest of the house as it gets darker. We used black lights to highlight the spider webs and stuff.
