HALLOWEEN 2015 - Skulls and Reapers

It's finally halloween again and I was able to spend all my money on more Halloween props! So this year I tried to have themed areas instead of flinging stuff everywhere (even though it still kinda looks the same). This is the first year I was able to have all my prop functioning as the temperature did not go below zero so all the batteries were happy!

The first section I will focus on will be my "pumpkin patch". No, I did not grow pumpkins as this would not even relatively work, I made one! This also did not work as great as I had envisioned it. Why? Well soil is way more expensive than I expected and I eventually got tired of going back and forth to the store to pick up the pumpkins so I just went with what I had. I made a basic scarecrow with old clothing, bamboo sticks and a styrofoam head, the scarecrow was the first thing put in as closer to halloween the ground began to freeze and was not fun to dig into. I added pumpkins closer to halloween as the squirrels kept trying to and brought in more props and my "pumpkin monster" on the date.

The veranda consisted of a skeleton dinner, set for two to dine with a bowl of eyeballs (because I just reused last years)

One of my favourite spots was the spider area, it ended up looking pretty awesome at night and some kids wouldn't even walk by it...

Reapers, the big dude is just saying hi...

Overall this is pretty much what it looked like and for once I had lights so you could actually see it at night, which makes everything better. Incase anyone was curious, I do not like
to spend a lot of money on props so I created a list of most things I bought and where I bought them, to give people ideas. Definitely right before Halloween and right after are the best shopping days!

Home Depot
- Solar Lights & broken chandelier
- Standing witch, reaper and pumpkin dude
- Skeleton + Skeleton breaking out of the ground + Big skulls
- Scarecrow and wrapped burlap body (Value Village too)
- Flickering candles

Dollarama
- Fences & webs
- Tombstones
- Tea Lights

Walmart

Giant Reaper
- Little Reapers
- Spider

Canadian Tire
- Tombstone
- Hanging Pumpkin

Anything else would be from my trips to the states to random stores (Christmas Tree Shop for sure!), grocery stores for pumpkins and a few Spirit Halloween items bought on sale. I have found Spirit to be disappointing this year, but that is just my opinion.

A few more yard shots as it goes form day to night, including my giant reaper trying to photo boom the pumpkin heads photo!

As always, feed everyone who helped you!
